Thank you for your interest in the NorthWest Farm Terrier. We have tried to answer the many questions we have received with general answers. Feel free to inquire with specific questions that pertain to your own circumstances.

This breed (NWFT) is still a ‘new breed’ and as such does not yet have a long historical offering, although many insights and tales already do exist [see-Tributes-page].

The owners of NWFTs today and in the near future are the designers and builders of that history. Our intent has not been to form a ‘kennel club’ register-able breed of dog, at least not in the foreseeable future. The demands and limitations in which these registries exist do not pertain to the ‘building’ of modern breeds of dogs. {Including the many ‘designer’ half-bred dogs popular today}

Formulating a breed from many sources is a process, which needs to be left open to variations upon the theme. And, while any breed is still within its ‘infancy’ certain restrictions cannot and must not interfere. Safe breeding practices (genetics), patience, love, insight and wisdom, and some good luck all play a part in this endeavor to ‘modify Mother Nature’ successfully.
